About the SFP® Credential Program

The Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP)® equips facility professionals to drive measurable improvements across their facilities by building knowledge in data-driven facility management. Throughout the program, learners develop practical strategies to reduce costs, improve efficiency, manage risk, and deliver results.

As a complete program consisting of three units, the SFP provides a practical, end-to-end approach to planning, implementing and sustaining high-performing facilities.

Assessment and Credentialing

Effective 5 August 2026, new enrollments in the SFP credential program will include unit assessments and remote proctoring for the final assessment. This enhancement strengthens the integrity of the globally recognized SFP credential with a structured assessment model to validate the knowledge gained throughout the program.

Learners will complete unit-level assessments that confirm their understanding of key concepts before progressing to the final integrated assessment. This approach reinforces learning while ensuring candidates are prepared to apply concepts across the full facility management lifecycle.

The program includes three learning units:

  • Introduction to Sustainability
  • Analyzing Sustainable Solutions
  • Making Sustainable Change

Final Integrated Assessment

The final assessment is designed to evaluate more than knowledge recall. Using scenario-based questions drawn from concepts introduced throughout the program, the assessment measures how learners apply their knowledge across the facility management lifecycle.

The final assessment:

  • Integrates concepts from all three learning units.
  • Uses scenario-based methodology to evaluate application of knowledge.
  • Is completed as a pass/fail assessment.
  • Is remotely proctored to help maintain the integrity and credibility of the SFP credential.

24/7 Remote Proctoring

Candidates will complete their final assessment through a secure remote proctoring experience that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This provides the flexibility to schedule and complete the assessment at a time that best fits individual schedules while supporting a consistent and secure credentialing experience.

Candidates are encouraged to review the remote proctoring requirements, technical specifications and testing expectations prior to scheduling their final assessment.
